”I have a good feeling about this. I don’t know why, but I just do!”
~Xenneth “Marie” Hikari
Xenneth, like most trainers, begun his journey at age ten. Before that however, he always wanted to be a Pokémon trainer as he counted down the days when it hit his eighth birthday. His Auntie Chezza would usually demonstrate her Pokémon Training “Prowess” to him as she seemed to harbor a deep love for Pokémon of the Grass-Type and being a trainer in a distant land that made skyscrapers to make goliath like cities and street look like ground level terrain. This made her visits rare, and when she did come and pose and play with Xenneth along with her Ivysaur, it made him want to become just like her, but except settling for a Gym Leader after her journey, he wanted to be like the other trainers who went to the endless quest of becoming a Pokémon Master.
By the time he had turned ten, Xenneth had begun his quest as a trainer. Being born in Celadon City within Kanto, he had thus been dropped off in Pallet Town where he began his journey and selected the beginning Pokémon that was Bulbasaur, the standard grass type Pokémon for Kanto trainers. Beginning his quest, he had set out to battle as a trainer freely, but his initiative as a trainer has posed a problem: Xenneth was “very” weak.
His first gym battle met with a failure, even though he had the elemental advantage. After his third failed attempt, he simply realized that he did not have the “Will” for Pokémon Battles, and without it, he would not make a very good trainer. Realizing this, Xenneth had fallen into a deep despair upon his first year of being a trainer, and afterwards was too ashamed to return home so soon, and was just as ashamed to continue and only be met with defeat within his journey as he missed his opportunity to participate in the Pokémon League, and had so few badges. It was because of this that he wandered aimlessly through the Kanto Region site-seeing while saddened with his Bulbasaur, but eventually had met with the fate to find his answer.
”Life is unfair, ya’ know?
You struggle, you fight, and still you are forgotten.
Your blood, sweat, and tears dry on the concrete.
Soaked by the soil; people walk all over it like neither existed.”
Lily Lenore~
Sitting upon Cerulean pier, Xenneth had come into contact with a beautiful young woman. The most notable features were the large sunhat she had worn along with a sky blue dress that blew in the wind. Constantly shying away each time she turned to acknowledge his wandering eyes, she had eventually made contact with him giving a “Hello.” Of course, as shy as he is, Xenneth tried to not acknowledge it and even apologized and make an excuse, but she was persistent, even noticing his Bulbasaur who she had credited as “Filled with Potential just like its trainer.” Xenneth was soft, easily charmed by her words, so it was from then he spent the rest of the day with the teenage woman, Lily, as she nestled Bulbasuar in her lap while talking to Xenneth who reiterated every detail about his depressed year of failure.
After the evening was over, Xenneth had sat with Lily during the sunset. Staring out from the pier with her, he found his joy of Pokémon Battling rekindled only slightly, but this time wanting to become stronger. He had decided that since Lily was a trainer, very much like him, he wanted to ask to travel with her, but before he could, he had heard a Cell Phone call come through on her phone, and after awaiting her to give short replies and conformation, she had simply stated that she had to get back to “work.” Curious to what “work” was, he asked, but only simply gotten his response cut short to see a Helicopter fly over and land in the distance at the end of a pier with its side embalmed with a large “R.” Lily who had looked down to Xenneth, she had simply stretched her hand to him and begged him to come with her as she wanted to see him become stronger.
”I do not want to be this way, but I want to be here with you.”
Xenneth “Marie” Hikari~
It had been his first day since being recruited into the organization of thugs, and Xenneth was left into basic training. Of course, he was hesitant at first, buy Lily promised that she would hold his hand as long as she could before he would be let go. She was assigned to be his mentor, and was very kind to him no matter what. Through this kindness, she had pushed him knowing for a fact that it was his openness and fondness for her that pushed him so hard to do better. Over time, Lily had made it a routine to train Xenneth to the point that not only had he become stronger, but his become as well as he had even gained a will to battle, but on the condition it was to make Lily proud.
Over time, Xenneth had been forced into missions for Team Rocket. With Lily being his mentor, they were usually paired together as she had a habit of using her grass and psychic type Pokémon in tandem with Xenneth’s grass and water type Pokmone that he usually juggled around. (Water types he caught because he usually adored them and he caught what was suggested by Lily.) As he moved up in the ranks with Lily eventually becoming an executive thus slightly distancing them from each other because of the time they got to spend together, they met up with what little time they had as they talked about their days and even joked around a little.
Xenneth had become an official grunt At the age of thirteen to the point where he had to stand on his own two feet. His calls to his family were nothing more than lies, and his time with Lily seemed to take value more so over than that of his family seeming to be his escape away from guilt, and as the newbie, he was very much taken advantage of by fellow executives that were on Liliy’s Rank. If anything, they saw Xenneth as their “play thing” seeing he was unique out of the rest seeing he did not have reasons of his own for joining Team Rocket, but rather solely to grow stronger with Lily.
Taking advantage of this, Agents Viper and Alice of the Executive continuously attempted to form a “sadistic” bond with him. With Viper trying to entice him, even though Xenneth was oblivious to her charm, and Alice who wanted a strange type of “Lover’s Suicide” as she proclaimed, it was obvious to Lily they were trying to use him as a “puppet” as by Viper and an “Escape” as by Alice who befriended him falsely, but on both accounts, Lily had saved him showing aggression towards the two and threatening if they would bring any harm to Xenneth, they would hurt him.
”You’re the only thing I have, Xenneth. That’s why...”
Lily Lenore~
Taking on more missions to prove to himself and to not be dependant upon the Liliy and show that he was accustom to his new life style, Xenneth had become more “outgoing” even though dangerous and often in over his head. Eventually, he had even taken on a mission that involved the pursuit of the Legendary Pokémon, Zapdos. He was only fortunate to be saved by Lily who learned of his foolish risk upon taking the mission and saved him from certain death after taking a direct “Thunder” and falling into the a river.
Xenneth had been unconscious for nearly a month. Lily the whole time had come back upon her returns from any of her assignments with her legs crossed and reading a novel awaiting for his awake was patient. Upon him awakening and seeing her on the side of his bed, he had been silent as she read. Lily had been noticed Xenneth and noted to him that she too had been hesitant about being in Team Rocket and participated in careless missions with little probability of not only success, but chances of living. Noting that she did not know what he missed in his old life that made him act out in such way, she had only advised that he find a way to cope with it before it destroys him like it almost did last time.
Lily had left silently not able to hear Xenneth’s appreciative “Thank You,” but she knew he would take the words to heart seeing they were close beyond that of their relationship of Mentor and Student.
”Xenneth...how did you turn out like this?”
Chezza Dee Lu~
At age fourteen, Xenneth had an offer to change his rank. Upon doing background search of Xenneth’s profile, the higher ups had thus discovered Xenneth’s family had a famous Flower Shop in the Unity Region where his Auntie Chezza had studied herbal plants. They mission was simply to convince Chezza to join Team Rocket or take her research notes for the R&D Division for Team Rocket. The notes were valuable because of the research harnessed around Grass Pokémon to manipulate the senses through smell. It would thus prove valuable to their research which tempted them greatly.
Xenneth had obliged to take the mission realizing if he did not, someone else would and meet it with hostility. Being assigned a second teammate to accompany him, Xenneth was unsure about the certain grunt, but Lily had stepped in during the debriefing (fully aware of the mission) and offered her own services to be Xenneth’s teammate greatly insisting that two familiars would be better than a stranger to accompany Xenneth which would give the wrong idea. A lying implication that she had made contact with Chezza, when she did not, but Lily knew Xenneth was a soft touch and would not want anything to escalate from the meeting with a harsher grunt. It was decided that Executive Lily and Operative Xenneth would be the ones to carry out the task.
The Mission would last for on month to convince Chezza Hikari. Xenneth had visited Chezza saying he had been so busy with his journey that he forgot to contact his family as a lie after being asked by his Auntie why he had not talked to anyone for a while, and Lily who had accompanied him had assumed the faux identity as a “Mature Girlfriend” seeing she was way above Xenneth’s age. Chezza had bought the story giving Xenneth the benefit of the doubt, but that’s only how it seemed on the surface. Xenneth had delayed his offer and the truth to Chezza for a good week, enough time so that he and Lily would talk things over until he worked up the courage to ask Chezza to join them. However, it was also Lily who had seemed to have hesitant feelings to ask as well but not only was she afraid of losing Xenneth to the ordeal.
Upon Xenneth’s fourth visit upon the week while staying in the region, he had spoken to Chezza finally having the courage to offer her to join Team Rocket as a scientist with her research. Chezza did not seem surprised as she had even told Xenneth that she was aware of his movements in Team Rocket because as a Gym Leader, she would be called to duty to dispatch of Team Rocket Members. Xenneth had never known about Chezza’s role as an official, but Lily seemed more than aware of it as she stepped forth to defend Xenneth and deciding to carry out the mission by force.
At that moment…Chezza and Lily had begun to do battle.
Xenneth had stood upon the sideline watching Lily’s Sceptile battle against Chezza’s Ivysuar. Exchanging heated blow for blows, Xenneth had watched the two Pokémon battle until he had finally grew tired of seeing his family member that was like a best friend and Lily who was similar in closeness to him fight, and demanded them to stop as he simply asked Chezza what would her choice be. Chezza stood by her decision, as did Lily say that she would not fail the mission, so Xenneth had requested of Lily deeply that for his one and only wish that Lily failed this mission for him.
Lily replied obliged fulfilling the wish just for once, and thus departed leaving him to tend to Chezza.
Chezza had insisted she would not tell Xenneth’s secret to the rest of the family, but she did say dearly that he would have to face them sometime like she did face her, and before then, she hoped that he would find his “true” self before he found his way back to them. Xenneth misunderstood, in denial, he had insisted that Team Rocket was his life and departed with Lily into the night and returned to Team Rocket Headquarters insisting that their mission was a failure.
Lily and Xenneth avoid speaking to each other for the next few weeks.
”This is what I want! I know it! So why do I feel like this?”
Xenneth Hikari~
It had been months since the incident with his Auntie Chezza and Xenneth had been promoted regardless of the result making up for his failure with more “advanced“ missions. Eventually, he had become an executive much like his mentor, and slowly approaching was his birthday. Himself and Lily and patched things up to some degree understanding each other, but Lily had been struggling with the ordeal of meeting Xenneth four years ago as she had decided that she should buy him a Birthday Present, but without noticing, she had been conflicted with another feeling she had those years ago.
Upon Xenneth finishing a mission to scout the movements of “Ho-oh,” he was used by Team Rocket as the bird only appeared during a “Certain“ occasion and to a “Certain“ type of trainer. Sensing Xenneth was this trainer, they had used him to confirm the myth of the bird appearing to pure hearted trainers when equipped with one of his “Rainbow Feathers“ of the legendary Pokémon. Not only was the myth thus proven true, but found that Xenneth could come into contact with Ho-oh if he wished by journeying to the top of the Tin Tower in Johto. Ignorant of their purpose, he had accepted the mission with the idea of it being another scouting mission keeping it secret from the trainer. They kept the hunch of Xenneth was as “pure hearted” than they thought, then he would truly turn on them since Ho-oh‘s presence was often a sign of virtue, wisdom, and purity to some.
It did not even take the presence of Ho-oh to make Xenneth change his mind.
Upon entering the Tin Tower and battling the Monks who thus defended it from Team Rocket members as well as Xenneth who commanded them, he had found himself being briefed by one the nearly unconscious monks after beckoning for his team to continue forth up the tower after hearing Ho-oh land atop of it. The Monks explained to Xenneth that the reason the Legendary Pokémon was there was not because of some lure of the Rainbow Feather, but the heart that held the feather, the one of Xenneth‘s that called the Bird Pokémon there. Xenneth realizing that this meant something and catching on that the reason he led this mission was not because of leadership, but because of his traits, he figured out that he was being used. Realizing this, he had decided to sabotage the mission.
Ambushing his own grunts secretly by luring them into a trap using Hypnosis by his Mismagius, Xenneth had not only stopped the Rocket Grunts, but made it so they would not remember the mission. Continuing up the tower, he had found Ho-oh who was restrained by a single grunt, but revealed that it was a guised executive, Lily.
”You’ve grown Xenneth, more than I imagined. I can’t let you be apart of this anymore.”
Lily Lenore~
Lily was not disappointed to find Xenneth had sabotaged the mission, nor was she surprised that he had figured everything out. She actually wanted him to know, but she could not tell him herself to raise suspicion seeing that the Team Rocket Superiors would accuse her of treason. Now met with Xenneth alone and with Ho-oh restrained by fire proof cords, she had thus challenged Xenneth to a battle, the terms being she would bring him in for treason if he would lose, and herself taken the burden of failure if she would lose. The roof became wet as a storm raged for the battle.
Battling, Xenneth had not only fared well against Lily, but in the end lost. However, she did not turn him in as she had torn loose the bindings of Ho-oh and shooed it away watching it form a Rainbow after the parting storm. With the mission thus being reported as a failure by Lily herself upon the tower at five thirty four in the morning by communication system, Lily was branded a traitor and was demanded to be “dealt with” on sight as an immediate command, but Xenneth had let her go as he watched her stare to the rainbow admitting that four years ago, prior to meeting Xenneth that she was actually hesitant that day about being in Team Rocket until he came along. Stating that she “Quit” as of now and knew what she wanted to do. Parachuting from the rooftop after bidding Xenneth a Happy Birthday, Lily had thus escaped.
Xenneth had realized that Lily’s gift that day was him realizing why he was in Team Rocket, and thus him opening his mind to his path of finding his “true self” as a Pokémon Trainer.
”Without you, I feel like nothing. Without you here by my side, I don’t want to do this anymore.
Without you, I know what I need to do, right now: make the difference that you could not.”
Xenneth Hikari~
Fifteen and now applied as a Team Rocket Elite, Xenneth had taken the intended spot of Lily who was blamed for sabotaging the missions as well as being the obstruction to manipulate Xenneth because of her always being near him. With their plan for the Rainbow Feather and taking Ho-oh lost, they had thus decided to move onto bigger plans, that being to take the Kanto Region‘s territory away from the officials because of the cloned Legendary Pokémon rumored of living in the region. It was thought impossible, but R&D Division had developed a massive assault ship that would be powered by captured electric Pokémon.
Xenneth had been surprised realizing why they wanted Zapdos, but settled for less with snatching other electric lesser Electric Pokémon, but with Lily gone and his vision realizing what he was doing was not in his best interest, he decided to set up an operation with his Pokémon, his last operation amongst Team Rocket as he taken his Pokémon with him.
His Pokémon being prepared and himself late for the meeting as the battle ship, Thunder Dreadnought launching into the sky from the sea, the moment it had thus launched and parted from the Ocean and headed for Kanto‘s land, Xenneth had begun the operation with each of his Pokémon stationed in different places of the ship and himself along side his long trusted Ivysaur commence their advancement through the ship intended to destroy the topside area as well as fend off the trainers. With a Butterfree sprinkling Stun Spore upon the deck while he proceeded to the cockpit, and a powerful Mismagius hypnotizing the electric Pokémon to discharge the ship to overload, they had thus begun to single handedly destroy Thunder Dreadnought slowly.
Upon confronting his fellow Elites, Xenneth had one simple goal, and it was to hold them off until the ship went down, even if it would be with him on it. With support from Butterfree and a fortunate assist from an angered Zapdos that had been attracted to the electrical disturbance by the discharging ship, Xenneth was able to hold them off while Dreadnought had sunk into the Ocean with him on it. Even when losing consciousness, he had convinced himself that he had indeed won.
It had been mysterious to exactly what saved him, but he could recall Lily in a wet suit for some reason and her prized Mantine, but he was not sure. With his hand going to his side to realize his Pokéballs were empty, all except one, and his eyes searching across the shore, he had remembered that he had completed his mission. The proof was the floating plate remain of the battle ship‘s insignia “R“ that had a wet print along it that most likely was his own. He assumed he drifted to sea on the plate at best doubting he was really saved by Lily who had left him. Taking his last two poké balls that were upon his belt that was Mismagius‘s and ButterFree‘s, he had smashed them to disclaim the Pokémon seeing he wanted to start anew and did not want to drag the Pokémon through the suffering.
”A place of beginnings...? I wonder if you’ll be there waiting for me.”
Xenneth Hikari~
It had been six months since Xenneth’s incident.
His mind was fresh with himself scrapping up from Johto’s shores after the destruction of the battleship. After his crimes, he knew he could not return home, so therefore, he had set his sights on trying to start a new life with Absol, his only surviving Pokémon as he spent time in Goldenrod City where he had thus felt himself content with living life in an apartment while finding jobs in the large city. Eventually, he had gotten into the flux of working around the city and being friendly with the locals. It was one day that when he checked for mail that he actually had an anonymous letter only to open it and find that it was signed from Lily with a message simply saying:
~“Someone is looking for you at a place of beginnings…”Xenneth was confused about the message, but moving the note aside, he had found a postcard from where it came from: the local Pokémon Day Care.
Arriving at the Day Care, Xenneth searched for Lily’s form, but found nothing. However, he had been greeted by the owners of the Day Care who greeted him personally, asked of him by his real name and explained a parcel was left for him as well as an egg sealed in a capsule. Opening the parcel letter, Xenneth had found a picture of Lily’s Meganium and his own Ivysaur smiling and close amongst Lily’s photography photos and used his imagination.
It was their baby...
Xenneth had been too choked up for words to know that he had something that tied him and Lily together, but overall, it would probably need a peaceful life. Thinking this is what Lily probably intended, he vowed to take care of this Pokémon within the egg, and also build somewhere safe for it. Upon wondering where, from the note, a simple ticket for the docks had fallen, and thus revealed a ticket for Unova.
”I’ll make a world just for us!”
Xenneth Hikari~
Xenneth did not restart his journey in Unova, but restarted his life. With the accumulated Battle Experience and hard work, he had overtime in the next year and a half became a powerful trainer with a new team that befriended him and also followed him willing known his past, but also given a promise by him not to stray from his path. He devoted his conviction to “Creating a World Just for them.”
A year it took to build this incredible hotel that takes up a large area of the Pok?mon League forest grounds in the Unova Region and Xenneth stares out the highest window each night as if waiting for “someone” to come and acknowledge what he has done to change the life. However, Xenneth is ignorant that his past name could possibly attract some unwanted attention.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]
