"Really? I would have never taken you for the shy type," Travis told Aurelia with a yawn, stretching slightly as the two waited for the train to arrive at the station.
"And I was pretty much planning on just wandering around, though I did want to see the amusement part here in Nimbasa. I also wanted to see some of the battles at the Pok?mon World Tournament over in Driftveil, and then I'd sort of circle the rest of the region until I got back to Castelia, maybe spend some of the summer in Undella if it took me that long," Travis shrugged. "I don't really plan things too far ahead. You probably figured that already from my lack of a hotel room."

A small frown appeared on Aurelia's face. "I never said I was shy. Just not... talkative."
"And that sounds interesting. I've heard a lot of really interesting artifacts can be found in Undella Bay, and the World Tournament sounds amazing as well."
The brunette looked over at a nearby clock to check the time: it looked like they're train would be arriving soon.
"We should go to the platform in a few minutes. Oh, but I have another question: what types of Pok?mon do you have?" She had noticed a couple of Pok? balls but hadn't asked yet who they were.

"My bad, easy to get the two confused, I suppose. And I was more interested in the beach than treasure hunting. Might even go out to Humilau City if I can still afford it by then," Travis said before looking down at his Pok? balls.
"Slowking, Donphan, and Skarmory," he told Aurelia, pointing to each Pok?mon's ball as he said their names. "That's a Water and Psychic type, a Ground type, and a Flying and Steel type in case you don't recognize the names; I know that they're not exactly local Pok?mon around here. How about you, who's your partner?"

"You can always battle to earn a little extra money, and I think I've heard of the Pok?mon you're talking about. They're all in their final evolutionary forms save for Skarmory becaus eI've heard it doesn't evolve, so they must be pretty strong." Lia replied. Though Unova save for the far east and western parts may not have a lot of types from different regions she still had books and the computer to learn about them.
The teen took out Lycoris' Pok? ball from her pocket. "My partner Lycoris is a Lilligant, which is a grass type found in Unova. She's been with me for a good chunk of years now, and she's my best friend."

"You only get money if you win," Travis pointed out. "But on that note, yeah, I think it's safe to say that we're pretty strong, if only because of how long we've been together. I definitely won't pretend to be the best trainer in the world."
The teen smiled when he heard the affection in the way Aurelia talked about Lycoris. It was heart-warming just to hear people and Pok?mon getting along like that.
"That's great," he said with a nod. "Maybe we can introduce them to each other once I find a place to stay."

"Hm, that's true." The girl replied. "And if you lose you'll have to give the victor money as well."
"Sounds good." Lia replied. "though I'd prefer indoors since I don't want her to catch anything if that's okay."
Winter time for certain grass types wasn't very fun: most buried themselves away or made shelters for themselves. Lycoris could still go outside, but it be better in spring. Lia tucked the Pok? ball back into her pocket before getting to her feet. "Ready to go?"

"Yeah, that's why I wanted to wait until I found a place and not just here or now, or when we got off at the next station," Travis agreed. The teen stood up and stretched before looking in the direction where the train was arriving.
"And yeah, I better be ready to go. Wouldn't matter much to the guy driving the train if I wasn't," he joked. "And I doubt you would want to wait for the next train with me if I didn't have my fill of the station or wasn't ready for some other ridiculous reason."

Lia cracked a bit of a smile as she nodded, walking towards the train as well. The line was short getting on and once the large group of people exiting the train hopped off Aurelia and Travis were able to step forward, handing their tickets to a man wearing a uniform who tipped his hat at the girl.
"How's the father doing, Lia?"
"Good, joints aching a bit but that's normal this time of year."
"Haha, he must be getting old." The man barked wit a grin. Lia raised an eyebrow but gave a small shrug as she entered the train.

"Never really thought of getting old as 'haha' knee-slapping humor," Travis remarked quietly as they sat down on the train and were a fair distance away from the ticket-taker. Old age was one thing that the trainer didn't look forward to in the slightest, though he knew that it was as inevitable as the end that followed it.
"Is he usually like that?" he asked. The trainer figured that it would be safe to make the assumption that the two knew each other at least somewhat well, since they were apparently on a first-name basis.

Aurelia nodded. "Yeah. He and my Dad have known each other for years."
The girl wondered why Travis looked so uncomfortable, but decided not to press him on what he was thinking. The train soon enough started to move and the flautist took to looking out the window to look at the lights of the tunnel before it changed to a wide and snow-covered landscape.

"I see," Travis remarked. The trainer looked out the window of the subway as they moved on. The teen decided to move on with the conversation as well.
"So, have any hobbies other than music?" he asked Lia. Travis continued to look out the window as he asked the question. He sometimes had problems making eye-contact with the person he was talking with: an issue that his parents constantly badgered him about when they talked together. As far as Travis was concerned, as long as he could hear the person he was talking to and the person he was talking to could hear him it didn't matter. People communicated with sound, not sight, right? Or so he said.

"Not really," The girl replied. Next to the flute, Aurelia didn't really have any other outstanding talents. "I battle sometimes, and do a bit of reading. But there's nothing really interesting."
She probably sounded boring to Travis. As a traveling trainer he'd probably seen alot of different places and met many extraordinary people. Besides playing the flute, Lia didn't really stand out from the crowd.

"Fair enough. I don't really have any hobbies at all, unless you count sleeping as a hobby. Before I left Blackthorn, there were some days where I spent more time sleeping than I did awake," Travis admitted. He didn't know why he was spilling his stories to Aurelia the way he was. Normally he had enough shame to at least stay quiet about his laziness. Maybe I really don't want her to like me or think highly of me. Yeah, that makes sense.
"I'm probably the most boring person you've ever met," he told the musician with a half-hearted smile. "Sleepy as a Snorlax and dull as a Dunsparce when I'm awake."

"I don't think your as lazy as you make yourself out to be." She replied to Travis. "You did go on a journey, even if it was probably your family making you go. And if you were as lazy as a Snorlax you would've just rolled the other way whenever your parents nagged you. Maybe you did that a lot, but eventually you did decide to leave. I don't thinka truly lazy person would do that."
Lia shrugged her shoulders. "Then again, I don't know you very well, so why should what I say make any difference."

"Huh, maybe you have a point... I never really thought about it like that," Travis told Aurelia, looking thoughtful. "Yeah, I made a choice and left when I didn't really have to..."
The trainer looked out the window of the subway and rested his head against the glass. "Still doesn't change the fact that I'm lazy, though. But I've got to admit, you've got me thinking now... geez, I'm getting all introspective."

"Guess it makes you think." Lia replied simply, not really talking anymore and leaving Travis to his thoughts until they reached Anville Town. The air was becoming chillier, and felt even more so to Lia after they stepped out of the train car.
"There should be a bed and breakfast nearby. I'll show it to you."

"Awesome, thanks a lot," Travis replied gratefully. The teen shivered when he walked out into the cold and stuffed his hands into his coat pockets. "Do they only serve breakfast, or what? I haven't had dinner yet, but I'm probably going to go straight to sleep anyway," he remarked with a yawn.
He looked around Anville Town and admired how it looked in the snow. "Cozy little town: looks like it came right out of a Christmas card. Definitely not a bad place to live," Travis observed.
