-Austin (Natsuki)-
Male/21/Ace Trainer
Demisexual - No relationship
Personality:Austin is even-tempered most of the time, maybe even cold sometimes. He does not take lightly to someone calling him incompetent or challenging his skills, particularly in battle, product of his childhood. He is closed off, not an introvert yet he does not share lightly the details of his life. If he finds something in his way, an obstacle, he will try to overcome it in anyway possible, even if it is not the best way to do it.
When in distress, he looses his cool in varying degrees, with a sharp jump at his most scared. For example, if he were confronted in a losing battle he would frown and become a bit pushy. If he were scared, he would express that the situation could be better and they should find a way to do it so, maybe a grimace or other expression. He maintains his cool and wits in most situations. When he is absolutely terrified, however, he becomes so distressed he can't think straight and searches for the closest source of comfort and/or safety, such as when confronted to his fear of heights.
Another way shake off his demeanor is angering him, much more difficult than scaring him. It can be achieved by insulting him because of his previous title or physical features quite easily however.
One could try making him happy enough he's ecstatic, but that is even more unlikely to happen than angering him when with strangers.
He does not trust in strangers, acquaintances, and only a bit in "friends", because of the mocking of his childhood. He is open and jokes with other people but even if you were to pass much time with him you'd find out you know very little of him and personal life.
His true friends are rare, with most of them living in Sinnoh, and one with him all the times, his Swoobat.
When he is alone, without someone tagging along, some of his personality shows better, and is softer, for the lack of a better word. He will indulge a bit in childish things, and smile quite often.
Because of him being born in Sinnoh, he loves quite a bit the cold weather and snow. He dislikes wind and blizzards nonetheless.
Austin doesn't particularly like people getting close to him more than necessary apart from people that have his trust. He's completely dedicated to training and Natsuki so someone to have his undivided attention would be rare. Because of his mistrust of almost anyone in the personal sense, you could say he has not had a girlfriend since Kindergarten where all you did was hold hands and share crayons. He doesn't really mind who it is because whomever got his trust had to be a pretty rad person. Even though he thinks this, he will most probably have a bit of inner conflict if it was a male at first.
Backstory: Austin was born in Unova, in Nacarene City. Only son to a very talented trainer couple, his mother being a gym trainer in Pryce's Gym in Johto, and his father a slightly unorthodox trainer from Celestic Town in Sinnoh.
Austin felt the unspoken expectations of his family to become a trainer; one of the best, nothing less than that. It did not help at all the fact that he was born with the hair and eye colour that the Ace Trainers in Unova possessed. Nor did the fact that following the traditions of his paternal family, he was to be addressed by a title dictated by the details of the day he was born, until he was to be deemed an adult and use the name originally given to him.
At first, he was very proud of the temporal name, it was a noble one, and did not find anything odd with it until he started his education.
Since the first day he introduced himself as "Natsuki", sniggers and laughs accompanied him wherever he went. As noble a title Natsuki might be, there was no barring the fact that it was associated always with females, leading him to be mocked and taunted throughout his stay in the school.
With originally a carefree and cheery personality, the taunts and occasional bullying forced him to adopt a brazen attitude, taking on challenges rashly, so as to prove everyone else he was definitely NOT a weak little lass. This turned most of the time against him, as it seemed that he had not inherited the natural gift for battling his parents had. There were times that Austin considered pursuing another way of life, but dismissed it upon closer thought. Even if he would not live to accomplish what was expected of him, he could not see himself being anything other than a trainer in the future. As if the mocking of his title were not enough, he was also teased for his hair color, and the fact that he was one of the few that did not yet have a pokémon (The ones of his parents did not count, they repeatedly said at him).
At age 14, he was one year shy of graduating from the trainer's school, and get rid of the unwanted attention on him. On a trip the school made to nearby wellspring cave, Austin was dared to get to the other side of a ledge to get a steel gem that could be seen. He got to it, but found himself unable to get to the other side of the ledge, and got lost trying to find a way back to the group. It was a very frightening time for him, constantly scared by every woobat, boldore and the occasional drillbur. Especially a particularly territorial woobat, who frightened him so much that he swam over a pool of water. He preferred a blue striped basculin in this moment.
He walked more in the cave, and tried to rest a bit. Wet, cold and miserable, he did not want anything more than return home. Then the territorial woobat came back. Spooked, he ran, trying to avoid the tackles he recieved. He tripped, and tried to protect himself when the blows stopped, and heard angry crits above him. Another woobat was floating in front of him and saw that the wings started to glow pink, then, suddenly, the territorial one jerked, and flew out of his sight. Scared, he tried to make himself invisible and kept still, covering his head with his arms. A pull on his left wrist made him look, and was promptly scared by how close was the pokémon to him and covered himself again. The pull came again, a bit stronger, and he cautiously looked at the bat pokémon, who got close to him, face to face, and chirped.
Later, when they found him, the teachers tried to convince a particularly protective woobat that they would not hurt him. Austin woke up to the ruckus, and the woobat became even more protective. After a couple of tries, he convinced the pokémon that they would not hurt him. It still followed him out of the cave and into the school infirmary.
The following week, the woobat would not stop following him, and even tried to sit the classes with him. There were heart-shaped marks on the windows all the week, from the bat holding to the glass. In recess, when the big students tried to bother him again, she appeared, and blew gusts of wind towards them. Needless to say the teachers were not amused at all.
Austin was given a pokéball to catch her, and to stop the trouble she caused all around. One could describe the little bat's expression as ecstatic to go inside the ball. He wondered why did she seem so attached to him even before catching her.
From that moment, the two were inseparable, the little bat able to sense when he needed the comfort, while helping him to prove he was worthy of his appearance, and the title he previously had. Starting his pokémon journey at age 18, when the whispers of Team Plasma became noticeable, he made his way quite quickly through gyms. Struggling against Burgh, he practiced endlessly after two attempts to get the bug badge. His woobat evolving was quite a surprise, and helped him get the third gym under the belt. Contacted by the ace trainers when he made an impressive win in Elesa's gym, with all odds stacked against him. He felt as if he was finally living up what he was meant to do, and took pride in his trainer status, now openly challenging other trainers too. He was acknowledged as an adult by his family now, and he was relieved to stop calling himself Natsuki.
On a summer day, after failing to get his fifth badge, he decided to take a breather, mostly because of his Swoobat's insistence, and the appeal of fair in that time of the year. He was interested in the rides and decided to try the ferris wheel after the roller coaster. Only two people could pass though, and he was without a partner. Sulking a bit, he decided to try other time when a girl, a bit younger than him, asked for entrance, only to be held back because of the same reason. Being a trainer, he decided to challenge her, there was no way she had a set of pokéballs in her belt as accessories. After the shock of being defeated wore out, he thought he should have deliberated it better. He had seen a full team of six after all, and did not use every one of them.
After that, and patching up his partner with a revive and super potion, he invited the girl to come with him. They were missing both a person to ride on with, he reasoned, and got inside.
At first, there was nothing wrong with the view, getting higher up slowly, watching the stalls become smaller and smaller. By mid height, he began to feel pressure all around him, and looked at the sights, it did not help a bit. The cabin shook slightly as it got higher, and higher, and higher. He felt sick, the people were so far, not one would hear if they screamed, would come to help quickly if something was wrong. When they were at the peak and stopped, he felt as of the cabin were to fall over, and started to panic strongly, recurring to the girl for help, and gripped her hand strongly. After they were down on earth, he felt as if he could kiss it. Apologizing immediately with the girl, and making a decision to over come his fear, he told her that he would be here often in the season, and if she wanted to ride again the ferris wheel, she could ride with him. In exchange for nearly cutting off the circulation of her arm he invited her to an ice cream for her and her pokémon. He regretted it for his wallet when he saw that she indeed had a full team of six. On that evening, she asked why he hadn't nicknamed his Swoobat. He said that it hadn't occurred to him honestly. She said it would be great to do it, because it would feel to be calling a friend, rather than a pokémon.
She did appear a couple of times after that, and he still gripped her hand (or arm) in sheer terror when in the ride. He could have sworn he saw her grin one time.
After summer passed by, he was well within Skyla's gym, and could not afford to backtrack to Nimbasa. He heard of her more when he caught news of her steamrolling through Drayden's gym though the ace network, they were turning on the idea of proposing her a spot with them. Team Plasma debacle occurred, and the sudden change of hands of the championship to a boy, was quite a bit shocking to everyone. Taking a breather again after passing the dragon gym by a hair, he returned to Sinnoh for a while, and after a twenty-question game with his Swoobat and heeding the girl's advice, he decided to call her the name he had before, Natsuki.
A year later after he returned to Unova, Team Plasma rose up again, with another purpose and more dangerous. He decided to lay low for that time, and heard of the defeat by another boy. He wondered how did the boy have guts to go against a legendary so suddenly, and even capture it! Taking this turn of events as inspiration, he decided to train harder, and prove everyone, that if two boys younger than him could become champions, he could very well become one of the best ace trainers in the world.
Appearance:
Austin stands at 5'8'' (172 cm). His hair is of a cyan tone, cut short, while his eyes are of a light blue, occasionally appearing grey or green depending on light. He is left-handed.
He is fit as most trainers are due to traveling in the wild. One could see a few faint scars, mostly on his arms and legs due to the rough travel. Interestingly enough, on the rare occasions he goes without sleeves, one can see a couple of heart-shaped marks in his left arm, product of Natsuki when she first found him in Wellspring cave.

Pokémon:
Natsuki
Swoobat/Female
Brave, Highly curious.
Ability: Unaware
As a woobat, she was content with the habitants of wellspring cave, having a quarrel with the haughty member of their species in that place like everyone else. When a terrified human stumbled in the dark, she could sense that the haughty woobat had gotten to it first, and he had escaped. Feeling an urge to protect it, she scared away the territorial bat, and tried to get closer to the boy. She knew them because they entered here frequently.
She managed to get one of his strange attachments of the body out of where his mouth and nose was, and hovered protectively over him, mistrusting the bigger humans that came later in search of the little one. She followed him after that, protecting the human from other ones that were clearly turning his shape dark, why couldn't the big humans see that? After that day, she was captured, and was happy to travel with him, offering a cuddle or a distraction when his bright silhouette started to turn opaque.
Turning into a Swoobat and receiving a nickname from her human, left her ecstatic, almost as the day she was captured. She prides herself in her battle prowess, earned very hard. All of the knicknacks that she could sense and later, see, of the human world interest her very much. She likes quite a bit what her human calls lemonade. She holds a grudge towards Joltiks and Galvantulas, because the first one of them she ever saw attached to her, fed on her static, bit her when she tried to shake it off and receiving a spark because of it. Also noteworthy to say that she is a bit leery of any Frostlass she encounters.
She is light-hearted and openly curious. Unlike her trainer, she gets on well with other trainers and Pokémon. Hurt Austin or make him sad in any way though, and you will find a vicious, protective Swoobat that will not let you get close to him more than 12 feet without a couple of well-aimed psychic and air cutters, be it to Pokémon or other humans.
Even being native to Unova, she spent an important deal of time with Austin in Sinnoh. Interestingly enough, even being a flying type, she likes the cold and loves playing in the snow. Austin usually calls her Natsuki or Natsu.
